At Conscious Cup, we've been using the AeroPress since 2007 and have always loved its simplicity and enormous potential for flavor.
What you'll need
AeroPress and Filter
Grinder
Scale
Kettle or alternative heat source
Stirring tool
Mug
Clean spring or filtered water (200g)
Conscious Cup Coffee (14g)
Directions
Gather your pieces and place the plunger inside the main chamber of the AeroPress. The AeroPress should balance comfortably with the open side facing up.
Put the paper filter into the cap, rinse it, and set it aside. Rinsing gets rid of the paper taste and helps the paper stick to the filter cap.
Weigh out 14 grams of coffee and grind it to a medium-fine consistency. Place the coffee in the inverted AeroPress.
Fill the AeroPress with 200g of water just off the boil. Stir to ensure all the grounds get wet.
Attach the filter cap. Wait for 2 minutes.
Place your vessel on top of the inverted AeroPress and carefully flip it over. Go steady and with confidence!
Remove the AeroPress plunger part and give the brew a little swirl to catch any exposed coffee grounds.
Plunge gently until you hear a hiss. This usually takes around 30 seconds.
Drink and enjoy! If the flavor is too strong, feel free to dilute it with 20-40g of water. If the coffee has a drying mouthfeel, grind coarser. If the coffee tastes too weak, grind finer.
