French Press

At Conscious Cup, we love the French Press for its simplicity and ability to produce a rich, full-bodied cup of coffee. Below is a straightforward recipe that showcases the French Press's strengths, resulting in a delicious and satisfying brew.

What you'll need

  • French Press
  • Grinder
  • Scale
  • Kettle
  • Stirring tool
  • Mug or server
  • Clean spring or filtered water (720g)
  • Conscious Cup Coffee (45g)


  1. Begin by boiling water in a kettle.
  2. Weigh out 45 grams of coffee and grind it to a coarse consistency. The grind size should be similar to breadcrumbs.
  3. Add the ground coffee to the French Press.
  4. Pour 720g of hot water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all the grounds are evenly saturated. Start your timer.
  5. Stir the coffee and water mixture gently to ensure all the grounds are fully saturated.
  6. Place the lid on the French Press with the plunger pulled all the way up. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes.
  7. After 4 minutes, gently press the plunger down. Use a steady and slow motion to avoid agitation.
  8. Pour the coffee into your mug or server immediately to prevent over-extraction.
  9. Drink and enjoy!
